At Portland Community Church we value creativity because we believe that God values the arts and creativity. (Ex 35: 31-32,35 Ps 19:1). There is a place for all creatives here. We are one body in Christ and welcome your creative gift.

We were put on this Earth to worship God in everything we do. Every gathering we strive to have an outpouring of our hearts in response to a realization of who God is (Ps 103:1, Rom 11:36, Rev 5:13). We are not perfect people here. We are believers striving to grow to be more Christ-like everyday until we are made whole when Christ returns (Heb 9:28, 1 Cor 15:52).

I was born and raised in Petaluma, CA. I married my incredible wife, Chris, in 1971. We met when she was 15 and I was 17. We have 3 wonderful adult children, Sean, Dawn & Jesse, grandkis and great grandkids. We have lived in Reno and Spark, NV, Sacramento and Santa Rosa, CA and moved to Beaverton, Oregon in 1980.

I’ve been a disk jockey, a manager for retail clothing stores, an insurance agent, and most recently, retired after 13 years working for an insurance sofware company as an implementation specialist/project manager.

Musically, I’ve been playing music since I was 10. I play music by ear. I was in my first bhand at 13. I have played clubs and concerts and always been involved in music in one way or antoher. My main instruments are Keyboard, Hammond B3 organ and guitar, but if push comes to shove I can play accordion, mandolin and ukulele.

I gave my life to Jesus after moving to Reno in 1975 and was baptized int he Truckee River in October 1977. Brrr! Since that time I have always been involved in music ministry, worship bands, choirs, gospel quartet and ensembles with Graftsmen Ministry. I cherish this wonderful give that my Savior has entrusted to me.

Beside music, I love spending time with family and friends, BBQin ribs, smoking brisket, port butt or a turkey in my pellet grill, and I dabble a bit in woodworking.
