KidSpace is fun and educational

Portland Community Church provides a safe and loving environment where children find and love God, explore His Word, build relationships with His family, and discover their own God-given uniqueness. The children’s classes meet at the same time as the adult services at 10:45 on Sunday morning. So, while you are experiencing the teaching and music of the adult service, your children are safe and experiencing God at their level in their own fun and exciting way.

We provide a safe place for your children. That’s why we conduct background checks on all volunteers serving in the children’s ministry.

Infants/toddlers (0-36 months)

This is the place of first impression where children experience the love of God through His church. As infants and toddlers encounter our loving volunteers, they learn what it means to belong to the larger family of God, and parents can feel comfortable with the care their children receive. The children are engaged as they explore the wonderful world that God made for them.

Preschool (3 Years - K)

This is where children begin to embrace God as their Heavenly Father. We want them to know that God loves them and wants to be their friend. We do this by teaching God’s Word at their own comprehension level so that the principles and truths of Scripture become relevant to them at their early stage in life.

We do this through:

  • Small group time

  • Age-appropriate learning

  • Crafts

  • Bible time

  • Sharing time

1st - 5th Grade

This is where children begin moving into knowing and loving God. Through interactive Bible studies, crafts, and games, the kids are engaged at their level. They are also challenged to begin taking ownership of their faith in memorizing Bible verses and reading the Bible outside of Sunday mornings.
