The Bible In Two Words – Teaching Series
The apostle Paul was a well-educated ultra-orthodox Jew who used to persecute Christians, until he was set apart by God to preach the Gospel. The Galatians believed falsely that Paul was “just another apostle” who had learned the Gospel from other early Christians. “I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.” (Galatians 1:12) Paul was sent from God to show that the crucified Messiah is exalted as Lord of the whole world, not just the Jews.
Paul’s defense of the real truth is appropriate today. If we are not carefully pursuing the truth and growing in our knowledge of God’s word, we too, can be swayed by false teaching. We must be vigilant to accept no other gospel but the truth of salvation through Christ alone.
